1. Introduction
PsalmRise ("we," "our," or "the app") is developed by Cinderhound Studio. We are committed to protecting your privacy. PsalmRise is a Bible alarm clock that wakes you with Scripture. This Privacy Policy explains how the app handles your information on iOS.
We built PsalmRise to be private by design: it has no accounts, no servers, and no tracking.
2. Information We Collect
We do not collect, transmit, or store your personal data on any server. PsalmRise has no backend. Everything the app saves stays on your device.
2.1 Data Stored Locally on Your Device
The following is saved only on your device, so the app can function:
- Alarms: The times, repeat days, and settings for the alarms you create
- Reading Progress: Which devotional mornings you have completed
- Preferences: Your selected devotional and app settings
This information never leaves your device. We cannot access it. Uninstalling the app removes it.
2.2 Data We Do NOT Collect
- We do not collect your name, email, or account information
- We do not use analytics or crash reporting
- We do not use advertising or advertising identifiers
- We do not track you across apps or websites
- We have no social features, user accounts, or user-to-user communication
2.3 Permissions Required
- Alarms & Notifications: To wake you at the times you set and to deliver alarm reminders. This is handled entirely by your device's alarm and notification systems
3. How We Use Your Information
Because your data stays on your device, we use it only to:
- Ring your alarms at the times and on the days you set
- Show your reading progress and current devotional
- Remember your preferences between sessions
4. Third-Party Services
4.1 In-App Purchases
PsalmRise offers an optional subscription (Yearly) and a one-time purchase (Lifetime) for full access. Purchases are processed through the Apple App Store:
- Payment Processing: All payments are handled securely by Apple
- Data Collected: We do not collect or store your payment information
- Purchase Status: Purchase validation is handled by Apple to unlock full access
- Management: You can manage or cancel your subscription anytime in iOS Settings → your name → Subscriptions
- Refunds: Refund requests are handled by Apple according to their refund policies

PsalmRise uses no other third-party services. There is no Firebase, no analytics provider, no advertising network, and no cloud database.
5. Data Storage and Security
- Local Storage: Your alarms, reading progress, and preferences are stored locally on your device using your device's standard app storage
- No Cloud Storage: We do not store any of your data on our servers or in the cloud. We have no servers
- Device Backup: If you have iCloud Backup enabled on your device, your app data may be included in your personal iCloud backup, managed entirely by Apple
6. Data Retention
- Local data is stored on your device until you uninstall the app or clear its data in device settings
- We retain nothing, because we collect nothing
7. Your Rights
Because all your data is local and under your control, you can:
- Access your data: View it within the app
- Delete your data: Uninstall the app or clear app data in iOS Settings
- Manage purchases: Through iOS Settings → Subscriptions
8. Scripture Content
Bible passages in PsalmRise are from the King James Version, which is in the public domain.
9. Children's Privacy
PsalmRise does not collect personal information from anyone, including children. The app contains no ads, no social features, no user-to-user communication, and no data collection of any kind. It is suitable for all ages.
10. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last Updated" date.
