Terms of Service for PsalmRise

1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using PsalmRise ("the app"), developed by Cinderhound Studio ("we," "our," or "us"), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.

2. The App

PsalmRise is a Bible alarm clock that wakes you with Scripture and guided devotional readings. The app is provided for personal, non-commercial use.

3. Alarms and Reliability

PsalmRise uses your device's alarm and notification systems to wake you at the times you set.

You are responsible for setting your alarms correctly and for ensuring your device is powered on, charged, and configured to allow alarms and notifications
We do not guarantee that an alarm will sound in every circumstance. Device settings, low power mode, Focus modes, software updates, or system conditions outside our control may affect alarm delivery

            Do not rely on PsalmRise as the sole means of waking for time-critical needs. For essential wake-ups, use a dedicated hardware alarm as a backup.
        

4. Purchases and Subscriptions

PsalmRise offers an optional yearly subscription and a one-time lifetime purchase for full access.

Free Trial: The yearly subscription may include a free trial. If you do not cancel before the trial ends, it converts to a paid subscription
Billing: Subscriptions renew automatically unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account is charged through your Apple ID
Management: You can manage or cancel your subscription in iOS Settings → your name → Subscriptions
Lifetime Purchase: The lifetime option is a one-time payment for continued access, subject to these Terms and the app's continued availability
Payments and Refunds: All payments and refunds are handled by Apple according to the Apple Media Services Terms. We do not process payments or issue refunds directly

5. Scripture Content

Bible passages in PsalmRise are from the King James Version, which is in the public domain. While we take care in presenting Scripture, the app is a personal devotional tool and is not a substitute for study, counsel, or guidance from your own faith community.

6. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of the app, except where permitted by law
Use the app for any unlawful purpose
Redistribute, resell, or commercially exploit the app or its content

7. Intellectual Property

The app, its design, original written devotional content, and branding are the property of Cinderhound Studio. The King James Version Scripture text is public domain. These Terms do not grant you any ownership of the app or its content.

8. Disclaimer of Warranties

The app is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to fitness for a particular purpose and reliability of alarm delivery. Your use of the app is at your own risk.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Cinderhound Studio shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of, or inability to use, the app — including, without limitation, missed alarms, oversleeping, or any resulting consequences.

10. Privacy

Your use of PsalmRise is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which explains how the app handles your information. PsalmRise collects no personal data.

11. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last Updated" date. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance.
